Sparsholt
Sotwell lies four miles west of Wantage, between the Downs and the Vale of White Horse. The parish included the village of Kingston Lisle and the hamlets of Fawler and Westcot. The Wilts and Berks Canal ran through. The soil is chalk and loam. Approximately half the land was arable.
