Faringdon
The small market town of Faringdon lies fourteen miles from Abingdon, between the Vale of White Horse and the River Thames. The parish included the hamlets of Little Coxwell, Littleworth, Thrupp and Wadley. It is on the main road from London to Gloucester. The soil is clay and alluvium. There was a weekly market, monthly cattle market, and three fairs annually.
